What is Distinguished Talent Visa ?
Distinguished Talent visa enables individuals with an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in a profession, a sport, the arts or academic research (and still be prominent in the area) to live, work and study in Australia permanently.
Priority processing is available to applicants who are currently working or studying in the following sectors:
- AgTech
- Space and Advanced Manufacturing
- FinTech
- Energy and Mining Technology
- MedTech
- Cyber Security
- Quantum Information, Advanced Digital, Data Science and ICT
The Distinguished Talent visa can be lodged onshore or offshore.
Key features of this visa:
- Direct Permanent residency
- Priority processing for the target sectors
- No age limitation
- Minimum English requirement
- No Skills assessment required
- No points test required
- No Employer sponsorship required
- No training contribution payment required
- 5000 places per year
Who can get Distinguished Talent Visa ?
Eligibility requirements:
- Have an internationally recognised record of achievement in a profession, a sport, the arts or academic research
- Be nominated by an Australian citizen, permanent resident, eligible New Zealand citizen or an Australian organisation with a national reputation in the same field
- Be of benefit to the Australian community
- Have the ability to establish yourself in Australia
- meet health and character requirement
- have the ability to attract a salary at or above the Fair Work high income threshold (FWHIT) (priority processing only)
- currently working in the target sectors (priority processing only)
- recent PhD or Masters graduates in the target sectors (priority processing only)
What are the types of Distinguished Talent visas?
Distinguished Talent Subclass 858 – be in Australia when the application is made and when the decision is made.
Distinguished Talent Subclass 124 – be outside Australia when the application is made and when the decision is made.
How long to process Skilled Visa?
The processing time is between 1 day (priority processing) to 6 Months.
